Menu Plan Monday 3/3-3/10

So far, the crock pot recipes for last week are turning out to be duds. The slow cooker turkey sandwiches were okay, but they aren't something I can force myself to eat too often. The creamy red potatoes? They weren't done as much as I prefer them, making it hard to enjoy them. The sauce for the potatoes was okay, but not anything to do the cha cha slide over. We had the hearty beans with beef yesterday, which were okay. I had to add some cooked macaroni to it, it looked nothing more than beef with a smattering of beans. I don't recommend this recipe if you don't care for baked beans, because frankly... it's a baked bean casserole with beef. The end. :) T-Bone liked it, and has been a trooper so far, so I should consider myself blessed. This week, I'm heading back to old school and just throwing together a menu that won't be time consuming. Not that I have much going on this week, but I'm not so sure I want to spend time at the stove. Enough of my rambling, if you need more menu's, head on over and visit Laura@OrgJunkie and fill your week up!
Thursday- Supper Bakes (bought this a couple of week's ago and need to use it)
Friday- Spaghetti
Saturday- Kielbasa, Fried Potatoes
Sunday- Chili
Monday- Bruschetta Burgers, Fries
Tuesday- Quiche
Wednesday- Leftovers

Thanks for the warnings on the recipes. I don't know what I did wrong but I put a roast with veggies in the crock pot and after what seemed like almost 12 hours it still wasn't as tender as I would have liked.

I am doing okay with our menu so far.

Love your comment on my blog. But, I must tell you that all the Freegans they interviewed worked - one was even a doctor and STILL ate out of dumpster.

It is really a mind boggling concept for me.

I've never mastered the crock pot. Everything I cook it in ends up tasting like ham.

Now, I just use it to keep the chili warm at parties.

I want to like my crock pot, too, but everything always has the same taste. I am starting to like my dutch oven now. Do you think this is considered cheating on my crock pot?

I'm going to try the lemonade chicken tomorrow night instead of next week and the pork apple curry next week. I hope they are good. They sound like they have great potential.

I'll be there for the bruschetta burgers!

I'll have to dig out some of my better crock pot recipes and send them to you. I tend to not use my cp as much as I should. I can't seem to get organized enough in the AM to get it started! But I do have some good tried and true recipes lurking around.

Just looking at baby pics does not MAKE YOU HAVE A BABY!!!

Silly you!!

But I totally get what you mean. Of course, I no longer have a uterus so it's really a non-issue for me.

Plus, with CJ already out of the house and Connor in high school, John says we are in the home stretch. He would never agree to start over!

As I said I tried out the lemonade chicken and it was ok. It was very lemony (which if you don't like fruity meat I'm not sure you will enjoy it.) The sauce was more of a glaze or a dipping sauce than a gravy (like the recipe called it.) I think I might make it again sometime and try cooking the chicken a little less then the called for time (it was a little on the dry side) and maybe even marinate it overnight in the lemonade mix before cooking. Overall, I thought it was yummy, but I'm not sure you would like it.
